Authorities in China's southwestern Yunnan Province on June 3 ordered house church preacher Chang Hao to stop leading online Christian teaching and prayer meetings, accusing him of organizing illegal religious activities.
Seven officials from the Zhenxiong County Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau, along with other local authorities, visited Chang Hao to deliver the directive.
The order specifically targeted his use of the Zoom platform for conducting these religious services, which included both instruction and prayer sessions for his congregation.
The suppression of online religious gatherings demands immediate attention.
